Pages and content — extracted and rebuilt as WordPress pages with the block editor
Blog posts — Wix exposes posts via RSS and APIs; we pull the full set, with dates and authors
Images and media — downloaded from Wix CDN at source quality and re-hosted in your media library
URL map — every Wix URL (including their odd /post/ and /single-post/ patterns) 301-redirected

The Wix specifics

Every platform has traps that generic migration checklists miss. These are the Wix-specific ones — the difference between a clean move and a rescue job.

There is no full export

Wix deliberately offers no site export. Content comes out via the blog RSS/API, manual extraction and scraping tools — messy, but a known, solvable job. Budget for it rather than being surprised by it.

Velo code does not port

Anything built with Velo (Wix code) is written against Wix APIs and cannot run on WordPress. It gets re-implemented — usually better — as a plugin or theme code.

Wix URLs are strange

Blog posts live under /post/ or /single-post/ with generated slugs. The redirect map has to catch every variant, or those pages 404 and their rankings die.

Domains registered at Wix

If your domain was registered through Wix, plan the transfer early — registrar transfers have waiting periods, and the domain must not lapse mid-migration.

Wix-hosted email

Mailboxes attached to a Wix/Google Workspace bundle need their own migration path before the Wix subscription is cancelled, or mail stops.

Every migration is a parallel build: your Wix site keeps running while the new WordPress site is built and verified beside it. The switch is a planned window, not a leap.

Audit and inventory. Content, URLs, rankings, integrations — everything that must survive gets listed before anything moves.
Parallel build. The WordPress site is built and the data migrated on staging, while the live site trades on untouched.
Verification. Content counts, redirect map, metadata parity, forms — checked against the inventory.
Cutover. DNS switches in a low-traffic window; the old site stays reachable to us until everything is confirmed.
Aftercare. We watch Search Console, 404s and the numbers for the following weeks and fix what the real world surfaces.

Can I export my site from Wix?

Not fully — Wix has no site export. Blog posts can come out via RSS and the Wix APIs, and the rest of the content is extracted page by page with tools and careful handiwork. It is the least elegant part of any Wix migration, and it is entirely routine for us.

Will my blog posts and their rankings survive?

Yes. Posts are pulled with their content, dates and images, rebuilt in WordPress, and every old Wix URL — including the /post/ and /single-post/ patterns — is 301-redirected to its new home. Google follows the redirects and transfers the rankings.

What happens to my Wix subscription and domain?

Once the new site is live and verified, the Wix plan can be cancelled. If your domain is registered with Wix, we transfer it to a registrar you control first — that takes a few days and should start early, not on launch day.

Will the new site look the same?

It will look as good or better — but it is a rebuild, not a copy. Wix designs are locked to the Wix editor, so we rebuild the design properly in WordPress, keeping what works and fixing what the Wix constraints forced on you.
