The questions clients ask before they hire us — what we do, how projects are priced, who owns the finished site, and how support works. If yours isn't here, the questions on each service page go deeper, and you can always just ask us directly.

Getting started
The basics — who we are, what we build and how a project starts.
Dotance is a WordPress and WooCommerce development agency. We design, build, redesign and maintain WordPress sites and online stores, and we do the performance, security and support work that keeps them running. If it involves WordPress, it is probably something we do — from a single custom plugin to a full store rebuild.
Sixteen, grouped into three areas — build, grow and protect. Nine core services cover design, redesign, custom development, plugins, WooCommerce, speed, SEO, security and maintenance, joined by specialised offerings: page-builder work, premium theme setup, multilingual builds, WordPress VIP, white-label development, bookings sites and plugin setup — plus platform migrations. You can see each one, with its own process and pricing, on the services page.
Send us a short description of what you need through the contact page, or run the free health check on your current site. We reply within one business day, usually with a few questions and a short call to scope the work, then a written proposal with a timeline and cost. There is no charge for the proposal.
Yes. We work with clients remotely wherever they are, and structure updates and reviews around an agreed rhythm rather than a shared office. Time-zone differences are normal for us and rarely slow a project down, because each stage has clear handoffs and nothing waits on a live meeting to move forward.
Pricing & engagement
How projects are priced, and the difference between fixed projects and ongoing retainers.
It depends on scope — a focused piece of work costs far less than a full custom build or a store with integrations. Rather than a fixed price list, we quote each project after understanding what you actually need, so you are not paying for a package that does not fit. The proposal spells out exactly what is included.
Both. Defined projects — a build, a redesign, a speed engagement — are quoted as fixed-scope work. Ongoing needs such as maintenance, support and continuous improvement run on a monthly retainer. Many clients start with a project and move to a retainer once the site is live.
From established small businesses to larger brands running high-traffic sites and stores. What matters more than size is that the site is important to the business — that it needs to be fast, reliable and properly built rather than thrown together. If that is you, we are a fit.
WordPress & ownership
Why we build on WordPress, and exactly what belongs to you at the end.
Because they are open, flexible and something you can actually own — no locked platform, no per-seat licence, and a developer pool far larger than any closed system. Built properly, WordPress scales from a brochure site to a serious store while keeping you in control of your content and data.
Yes. You own the site, the custom code we write, and every account and licence involved — hosting, domain and third-party services are all in your name. There is no lock-in: if you ever move to another team, everything is documented and handed over cleanly.
Either. We can recommend and set up hosting suited to your site, or work with the host you already have. We are not a hosting reseller, so the advice is about what performs, not what earns us a margin — and the hosting account stays in your name regardless.
Support & trust
What happens if something isn't right, and how we handle your access and data.
Our process is built to prevent that, with a review and sign-off at every stage so nothing is a surprise at the end. If something still is not right, we fix it — putting the work right is part of the engagement, not an extra. We would rather get it right than be finished.
Yes, we are happy to sign an NDA before you share anything sensitive. We take only the access we need, keep credentials secure, and remove access we no longer require once the work is done. Your data and accounts stay yours throughout.
