A fast Elementor-ready theme for consultants and consultancy firms that take appointments online.

== Description ==

Consultation Booking is a lightweight theme for consultants, coaches, advisers, therapists and consultancy firms. It gives you a clean header with a "Book appointment" button, a booking bar for phones, two colour schemes and a blog, and leaves the page design to Elementor.

The booking button links to a page of your own, or opens the booking form of the free Bookance plugin in a popup. The free Elemance plugin adds ready-made consultant pages. Both are optional: the theme works on its own.

Features:

* Booking button in the header, with your own text and link
* Booking bar at the bottom of the screen on phones
* Navy and gold, or teal and apricot colour schemes, plus custom primary and accent colours
* Full-width layout for pages built with Elementor
* Header and footer locations for Elementor Pro and header/footer builders
* Five ready-made pages (two home pages, Services, About, Book & Contact) in the free Elemance plugin's template library
* A colour scheme per page, set in the page editor sidebar
* Four footer widget columns and a footer menu
* Fonts hosted inside the theme, with no requests to Google
* Keyboard-friendly menus, skip link and reduced-motion support

== Installation ==

1. In your admin, go to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme, choose the theme zip, then Install and Activate.
2. Go to Appearance > Get started and click Install and activate the plugins. Elementor and Elemance both come from the plugin directory.
3. Click Import the demo: five pages, a header, a footer, the menu and your front page.
4. Work through the checklist on the setup screen: your logo, tagline, menu, front page and booking link. The same screen holds the documentation.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Do I need Elementor? =

No. The theme works with the block editor too. Elementor lets you build the demo-style pages.

= How do I show the booking button? =

Go to Appearance > Customize > Header & booking button and enter the link to your booking page; the button and the mobile booking bar appear once a link is set. If the free Bookance plugin is active the button appears on its own and opens its booking form in a popup instead.

= How do I get the demo site? =

Go to Appearance → Get started. Click the button to install and activate the free plugins, then click Import the demo. You get the two home pages, Services, About and Book & Contact, a header and footer you can edit in Elementor, a menu, and the home page set as your front page. Existing pages are not changed.

You can also insert single pages: open a page in Elementor, click the Elemance button and choose a page from the Consultation Booking category.

= How does the booking popup work? =

The header button, the mobile booking bar and any Elementor button with the CSS class cb-book-link all follow the link you set in the Customizer. With the free Bookance plugin active they open its booking form in a popup instead.

= Does the theme load Google Fonts? =

No. The fonts are bundled with the theme and served from your own site.

== Upgrade Notice ==

= 1.3.0 =
The setup screen no longer opens by itself and no longer hides the admin menu. Safe to update.

== Changelog ==

= 1.4.1 =
* Accessibility: the Get started screen no longer adds a second main landmark inside the admin page.

= 1.4.0 =
* Bookance is back among the recommended plugins on the setup screen, now that it is in the WordPress plugin directory: step 1 installs it with Elementor and Elemance, and the Book buttons open its booking form in a popup.

= 1.3.0 =
* The setup screen no longer opens by itself when the theme is activated; the dismissible welcome notice and Appearance > Get started lead to it instead.
* The setup screen sits inside the normal admin layout, with the admin menu, notices and footer left alone.
* The setup screen and the readme only cover plugins from the WordPress plugin directory.

= 1.2.0 =
* Get started is now a setup screen that shows which step you are on and ends with a look at your finished site.
* Get started sits in the admin bar until the demo is imported, then steps out of the toolbar; it stays under Appearance.
* The last step is a live checklist: your logo, tagline, menu, front page and booking, each ticked off as you do it.
* The setup screen now carries the documentation: installing the theme, adding the plugins, importing the demo, the booking popup, header and footer, colours and the blog.
* The demo now installs a header and a footer built with Elemance, which you edit in Elementor. The theme's own header and footer come back if you delete them.

= 1.1.1 =
* Get started: a plugin download button opens in a new tab, so the setup steps stay open behind it.

= 1.1.0 =
* New Appearance → Get started page: install and activate the free plugins with one button, then import the demo site through Elemance.
* A form placed in a page keeps its own focus style.

= 1.0.0 =
* First release.
